I spent Thursday glazing a kiln-load. It was all spray glazing. And the
results, just unloaded, are much more consistent and satisfying. I can't
say that I have already put into practice ALL that I have learned from the
Clayart contributions, but I am certain that what I read made a big difference.

In the first place, you built up my confidence: "it is hard, but you can do
it"! In the second place, all the suggestions convinced me to slow down and
be much more alert and thoughtful about the process. I have not refined my
process to the degree that Elizabeth and Alisa have described, but I was
much more methodical in my approach. I know that I need to have a lot more
practice--what I am doing this week is not for practice--but I really look
forward to practicing what has been suggested in the weeks and months ahead.
I do think developing a precise procedure for glazing will be a great help.
My procedure was very much what Alisa described as her method in the
beginning. I do think I am 'armed' to conquer this part of the process.

Today I will glaze another kiln-load which will be all dipping. A simpler
project as I won't have the spray gun to contend with. But I will make all
the notes and be just as attentive as I was on Thursday and hope to have
another satisfying kiln to unload on Monday.

Thanks to all for all the good helps. I am signing over and out on this
subject! Gay Judson
