What is a Yixing teapot? Is this the single cup gift teapot that is made in
the shape of some natural object?

Sandra,
Yixing is a pottery town in China near Shanghi and Wuxi. The clay there
is called purple sand and makes wonderful teapots (many of the teapots
are made in shapes using natural forms like bamboo, fruit and tree
branches). In the current issue of Janet Mansfield's Ceramic Technical
magazine is an article "The Art of Yixing Pottery" by Zhang Sou Zhi (one
of Yixings most famous teapot designers).
There is complete instructions (with pictures) on how to make these
teapots.
