I spotted something called "York Kickwheels" in Axner Pottery Supply catalog.
Has anyone ever tried one? It looks interesting in that it's cheep, ($199.00
plus s. & s.,) and easy to relocate. The fact that it handles small to medium
pots isn't a problem. Looking for opinions and comments. Thanks, Jeannie

Hi Jeannie,
I have a York Kickwheel I purchased from Axner at NCECA in Rochester. It's
handy for demos and for dragging out to sit in the sun in the summer.
Useful when the power goes out in the winter and high winds as it does
often here. It can't handle big masses of clay if you need to center the
lot, but it's great for throwing off the hump. It only weighs 50 pounds
but it spins easily for a very long time (when you're not centering).
Centering has to be done with in several goes because it does lose momentum
under a lot of pressure. I like it but I wouldn't want it to be my only
wheel.
Leona
