Hello All-
My name is Paul Andrew Wandless and I=91ll be a demonstrator at a clay =
conference called
=93Creations In Clay: Slab & Wheel Work=94 on September 7th & 8th. The Conf=
erence is being hosted
by Potters Workshops, Inc. and the Art League of Long Island. The conferenc=
e demonstrations will
take place at the Art League of Long Island, NY (www.artleagueli.org) and th=
e address is 107 East
Deer Park Rd., Dix Hills, NY 11746.
My demonstration at the conference will be an introduction to various i=
mages transfer
techniques for handbuilt and thrown work. Monoprinting, relief printing, sc=
reening, stenciling,
stamping and embossing will be covered during the 2-day sessions. I will us=
e images and
narrative as a means of personal expression and also show how designs, shape=
s and text can be
incorporated. The clay surface essentially will be used as canvasses for ex=
ploration of image,
texture and color. The surface of clay can be completely covered with print=
ed images or just a
small detail can be applied with these processes. I will show that you don=92=
t need to be a
printmaker to take advantage of the process on your clay work, no matter wha=
t it is you make.
