remember, an oxyprobe measures at the point the probe
goes into the kiln.
if you are happy with your firings, getting reduction
that you find perfect.
don't change a thing.
there are certain glazes that will sure tell you fast
if you are getting perfect reduction.
celedon, copper red, shino etc.
i have seen pots fired with opaque white or oatmeal glazes and
the potter using a commercial clay body that are not
reduced at all. but, the pots are really nice. so, not to
worry.
it is when the copper red is green, and the celedon is white
that we have deep concern.
if you are getting deep red copper red and your kiln atmosphere
is rather clear...don't change a thing.

mel,
With an Oxyprobe reading between .550 and .625 for most of the firing (.725
from ^015 to ^06) the copper reds are bright, the celedons clear pale
green, the rutiles blue to pearl. The only thing I need now is more time to
find some new glazes.
