Details about a firebrick labelled "FNS" would be much appreciated.
Cheers, John

John,
I couldn't find any written description of FNS, but can offer some
anecdotal details. We have some of them in our wood burner. Some of
the large floor tiles (18" x 12" x 2") are FNS. They seem to behave
the same as the other brands, and are used at cone 10-12. I guess
they are high heat duty or super duty.
good firings,

fns stands for france non spall and are at least sold if not made by premier refractories in snowshoe pa. they are a high duty firebrick with excellent properties, much like a empire dp but maybe a little tougher. hope that helps?
