Hi, the Croft and the Galleria are both on 4th Street S.W - the Bow river
divides Calgary into North and South- so you can spend a lot of time looking
on the wrong side!
Don't forget Canmore which is exactly an hour West of Calgary, 15 minutes
this side of Banff. There is a great Gallery - The Avens- on the main street
with pottey from all over Alberta. There is also a wonderful jeweller- Rudi
Peet- in Canmore on the other side of the valley, to the right of the Trans
Canada, heading to Banff.
Good luck.

Hi Sooz,
I don`t have the addresses right here, but you could Google
The Croft Calgary. Loads of great stuff, mainly pottery by local
potters. If you get there, go downstairs for even more. Across
the street and south a few doors is a folk art shop.
Google Galleria Calgary. Also many potter`s work up the stairs.
Well known potter, Don Wells has a studio a few kms south of
Calgary in the town High River, as do the Pikes. About an hour south
of Calgary is the town, Nanton that has a lot of interesting antiquey
shops. If you want to drive another hour and a bit, carry on down
to Lethbridge. We`ll go for coffee and I`ll show you around here.
e-mail me if you`d like my phone #.
Cheers!

Ride up to the Banff Center, about an hour away. It is a great
artists' residency program and there is usually a cool exhibition in
the gallery.
There is a ceramics program with Ed Bamley (sp) as the current director.
In calgary proper, there is art everywhere...on the river drive, in
the pdestrian walks, etc. The Alberta Potters Association use to
throw a conference alternating between Medicine Hat and Calgary. I
have taken my students from Montana to both locations. There is lots
of good food. I haven't been there in a while, so others will have
more accurate gallery info.

Another couple of places to go in Canmore are Two Wolves Trading at 108-
1240 Railway Ave , http://www.twowolves.net/ we KNOW they have a good
selection of pottery, and for something a little different, The Sugar Pine
Company Quilt Shop 737 Tenth Street is one of the largest and best Quilt
Shops in North America and they have some pottery as well.(They were
recognized by Better Homes and Gardens). http://www.thesugarpine.com/
Enjoy your visit to Alberta!
