Myrna,
At NCECA this year I picked up the tip of using
copper carb as a sanitizer in your paperclay slop.
I add a heaping teaspoon to a 5 gal bucket of the
paper slip. This amount works for me and is not
enough to color the clay.
The advantage over bleach is that it does not degrade
out of the mix.

Or a copper bucket?
I am very interested in testing copper liner glazes for pet
bowls. Maybe in retirement. ;^)
