Hello everyone!
Finished the first firing in the new kiln & while it didn't reach temp it
fired pretty easily. It is the bourry box kiln w/ the box that sits under
the kiln chamber. The reason that the firing didn't reach temp is due to a
poor design on the firebox cover (entirely my fault) that led to it's demise
shortly before I hit cone 9 throughout the kiln. I will be rebuilding the
door tomorrow w/ plans to re-fire the entire kiln this Saturday. I have
taken a couple of pictures of the kiln firing & some of the pieces that came
out of it (although, they are going right back in for the second firing).
Wish me luck on the second firing. I will keep everyone updated as to how
it turns out.
