Hi folks,

The Nottingham Center for the Arts has a residency openning for a ceramist.

The Studio rental is $ 250 / month plus utillities and materials plus
1/2 day each week working with the other artists to build and maintain
the facillity.

Studio is aprox 360 sq. ft. with 220 v. outlet and venting for an
electric kiln and lots of heavy duty storage shelves. Studio also has a
large Baily slab roller.
We have several kilns for use including: 50 cu. ft. Halverson car kiln,
30 cu. ft West Coast kiln, Skutt 1027 electric kiln, salt kiln, rku
kilns, and many other kilns.
There is a fully equiped glaze lab with all ceramic cemicals and
materials, scales and sives, two ball mills, and other glaze equipment.
We have a large Soldner clay mixer and lots of raw clay material storage.

The Nottingham Center also has a full hot glass blowing shop, complete
wood working shop, tool rooms and hardware shed.

Currently we have a full time glass blowing artist , two glass artists
working in flame work glass, glass casting and slumping and stained
glass windows, a wood flute maker, and the director who does sculpture
and fine woodworking.

We are a small community of artists working in our own studios to
further our own artistic visions and carreers while also contributing to
the greater vision of the Nottingham Center for the Arts in north San
Diego County.

We have a large property, 4 acres, and a dedicated main studio for
events and workshops.

Some of the art / craft groups who use our place are: the San Diego
Clay Artists (Sandiegoclayartists.org) who hold workshops here, the San
Diego Woodturners (SDWT.org) who hold all their meetings and most
workshops here, the Association of Glass Artists who have workshops
here, and several other art / craft groups using the main studio for
their meetings and workshops. Thus there is lots of interaction among
artist / craftspersons working in many different mediums using our place.

For a self directed ceramist wanting a fully equiped facillity and a
group of supportive artists; this is a perfect place to develope your work.

There is space and full hookups if an artist would like to live on site
with a motor home or trailer. Space rent is an additional $ 200 / month
plus utillities.
