kid gloves

One of the things John Neely turned on to this past semester was snug
fitting cheap cotton weave gloves. I bought a pack of 12 pairs for $12.49.
You double them up so you really have 6 pairs for $12. they are ideal for
wood firing and unloading hot kilns. Most of the fire brigade go out and buy
$30-$40 chamois gloves made from caribou, deer, and all kinds of crazy
leathers. When they get really hot the leather burns you. When they get wet
everything slips out of your hands. Usually by the end of one firing there
is a hole in the end of one finger and you beautiful kid gloves end up with
a piece of duct tape wrapped around the finger. What I like about the cotton
was if it gets really hot you'lll know cause it'll catch on fire and you can
plunk your hand in a water bucket. Even better since if they're wet they're
not as likely to burn. They work well when wet and things don't slip. You'll
look more like Micheal Jackson than Ernest Bourgnine in The Wild Bunch but
you'll have left over money for cocktails post firing.
Best,
Tony
