maccoloid vs vee gum t

I've been using maccaloid for over a decade, and am finally running out.
Amongst the treasures I've acquired over the years from people selling
out their studios I found Vee Gum T. When I make my glazes,
I usually use 0.25% mac, up to 0.5 for F4 heavy glazes. It has always
worked great.

So, the questions are:
how different (chemically/physically) is mac from VG T?
What % should I use to replace the 0.25% of mac?
If I'm topping off a glaze that's gotten low, can the 2 mix??

Thank you :-)
