Hello,
=20
I'd like to get a triple beam scale and have seen companies (such as My
Weigh) that sell theirs cheaper than Ohaus. Does anyone have experience
with other brand names besides Ohaus? Are they pretty much all the same?
The physics behind the triple beam scale seems simple enough-I think.

Used Ohaus Triple Beam scales are currently bringing around $40 on eBay
including shipping.
I prefer the Ohaus Dial O Gram scale with a tare beam. They go for about the
same. You might try and learn if there are police evidence sales in your
area. They turn up there frequently along with digital scales at very low
prices. These are superb scales and should last a lifetime.

Try a search on the internet "craigslist gram scale" and see what
turns up near you.

Try Labx, com too. They show up there sometimes. There are 620
balances on sale today. Look under lab equipment.
I bought my Ohaus triple beam scale in 1971 and I am still using it.
Not much goes wrong with a scale if treated well.

Teri Lee:
I've ordered triple beam scales from a bunch called "oldwillknott" on eBay.
The scale wasn't an Ohaus, but one made in China.
Didn't matter to me.
The prices are more than fair, the shipping is quick, and the customer
service was great.
The "buy it now" price is $63.89 as of today for a new scale, not a used
one.
No complaints here, or any connection to them. I'm just a satisfied
customer.

The dogs were "all about it" until they realized that those claws can
snap a pencil in half...or their nose. So now, they sit inside
(in the AC) watching them through the sliding glass doors, and just woof
once in a while.
The cat just can't bring herself to be bothered. She just lies there on
the porch, watching, not moving a muscle. She's been through this
before. She knows it's just not worth the effort to try to catch
"seafood on the hoof".

I have a non-ohaus. A Nexus. Works pretty good. But it is
about 16 years old. Can't compare to new stuff that is probably made
in China.
