Jeannie Hulen Mold Making & Slip Casting workshop
Dates: September 22nd - 23rd, 2007 10 am - 5 pm
During this weekend workshop University of Arkansas Assistant
Professor Jeannie Hulen will demonstrate and work with participants
to create plaster molds. Participants will bring a simple object to
make a 2 part mold. She will also show how she makes multi-part molds
to cast complex forms. Jeannie's work has always included porcelain
slip-cast objects derived from complex plaster molds. Currently she
is making molds from large-scale plastic baby and toddler toys and
slip-casting them in porcelain.
Fee: $110, includes materials & lunch. Limit 20 participants.
Screen Printing for Ceramics workshops
Dates: October 19th - 21st, 2007 10 am - 5 pm
These three day, hands-on workshops will explore the creation and use
of screen printing images for ceramics. Charlie Cummings will cover
digital image preparation, positive films for screen exposure, basic
photo emulsion based screen printing, overglaze decal printing, glaze
printing, underglaze and slip printing, slip transfer for
3-dimensional objects, and other related topics. Open lab hours 5 pm
- 11 pm Friday and Saturday evenings during the workshop.
Fee: $220, includes lunch. Limit 15 participants.
