Hello potters,

The recipe for the Val Cushing (Pam Fredericks) satin matte glaze at =
http://mopots.com/Judy_Musicant_Green-Brown_Bowl.pdf does add up to =
only 96. That glaze was published in the Alfred Clay and Glaze Notebook =
in both an original and modified version. I use the modified version. =
The original is the same except that it contains 10% Titanium instead of =
6%. That accounts for the reduction from 100% to 96%. (The notes say =
the original version is extremely dry). By the way, I had it leach =
tested at the Alfred labs for vanadium (I use a vanadium mason stain for =
a yellow color) and lithium. The results are on John Hesselberth's Frog =
Pond Pottery website under Glaze Stability. Both leach results were =
low. While I didn't have the copper version leach tested, it does pass =
the vinegar test and the freeze and boil test. I have used bowls with =
the copper version for many years and washed them in the dishwasher =
repeatedly and they still look good as new. (I'm anticipating Ron Roy's =
reaction about stability).

Hi Judy,

If you have had it lab tested then I withdraw my comments about stability.
I would like to see the results of a lab test with 5% copper Carb though.
