Hi All,

I promised some photos, but I've managed to make a short movie about
how to make the glaze test tile rack I use. I hope you pathological
glaze testers find it useful. Perhaps it will only drive you madder!

You can view it at

Hi Ruth: Wowie, Zowie! I love the tile support. And I'm glad to see that
you are well. Splitting time between Belgium and Maryland -- not too bad.
Only wish I lived closer so I could take you up on the studio/housesitting
offer.

Anyone who is considering this studio/housesitting offer should know that
Ruth has a great studio and a wonderful home -- lots of wood and natural
light. Nice to hear from you, Ruth. Barbara

Hello Ruth and everybody else;

From Ron Roy's glaze lecture handout, I learnt about the glaze rack. He made it with soft fire brick. I was living in the UK at the time and I couldn't find soft fire brick. I built my own with grogged clay and washed with kiln wash. Because I fired my tiles in portrait, the stoneware and porcelain tiles get distorted and bent when fired over cone 8, except the dark clay. After reading your post, I gave it some thought and I made free-standing tiles in landscape mode yesterday. Now that I saw you video with your landscape tile orientation, I am quite pleased with myself! And thanks for taking the time!!

Best Wishes

P.S. Just found some photos of you and Russel in British Museum recently in a HD.
