firebrick identification

About 15 years ago (when I was in high school) I built a small catenary arch wood kiln
out of firebricks I got from a local steel mill. I fired the kiln to about cone 8
around 5 times. I went off to school, the land (and kiln) were sold, and now it's time
to build another wood kiln. I talked to the current owner and she was happy to let me
come get the bricks. I'll need more to build a larger kiln but I'd like to use these
old ones if feasible to cut cost. The problem is that I'm not sure of their makeup.

Here are some details about them. Maybe someone out there can point me in the right
direction:

- they have "3x5 UF 45" stamped on them
- they are curved on the 3 inch side
- they are 3x5x8 inches in size (The 8 is approximate because of the curve.)
- they weight slightly less than 10 lbs
- a few of them have what appears to be hardened metal on them

These bricks held up well the few times we fired, but I'd like to verify they are not
high silica or otherwise inappropriate for a new cone 10 kiln.

Thanks,
Casey
