We have Dish Network and we watch CCTV 9 all the time. That is the English
language station from China.

This June , I taught two overglaze seminars in Thailand and got
to do some sightseeing after the classes were finished.. One of
the places we went was to the palace in Bangkok. The king no
longer lives there but it was an amazing site. Building
after building with tile facades.. and those that
werent done in tiles were covered in 1/2 inch mirrors
( some in colors) .. and some covered in gold leaf.
It was absolutely mind blowing... To view some of the pix, go to
http://marciblattenberger.com/thailand-webpage/thailand.html and
scroll down to the palace... ( clicking on the thumbnail
will bring up a larger view)

The cool part was that the buildings were built on different
levels with walkways so at different times, you were on the
same level as the roof of the next building so you were able to
see the detailing up close..

I have a lot more pictures ( showing as much of the building as
I could get into the frame, and then closeups of the tile work
for that facade) if anyone is interested... email me : marci@ppio.com
