If you think you might want something more than shoehorning your
website into a blog format you may want to consider Squarespace at
http://www.squarespace.com/ This is a completely web browser driven
application - you don't need any software on your computer. instead
you go to their web site and use your browser to create a site. They
host it for $7 a month. The look is clean and professional.

I almost went with Squarespace before deciding to roll my own site,
and i sometimes wonder if i made the right decision. Squarespace
seemes very flexible. They have features that are blogger specific
but their system is more general. There is a free trial so you can
check it out and see if it floats your boat.

I've no connection to Squarespace, etc.

Hello Ken;

Thanks for the link. I personally think that Content Management System is the way to go.

I tried it for a couple of hours and I have a usable and professional site up. Although I still have many hours to go but I like it so far. The documentation is good and the automatic publish is slick. There are many useful 'widgets' that I can use but I would not bother if I were to use Dreamweaver.

It's good that the blog is a module of the site. So you know need to have a blog and a site separately and it's better for the overall branding and navigation. The templates are sufficient if you are not good at graphic design.

You can also set up multiple users if you have a small studio or if you want to start a private group. This is good value for the money.

It's really $12 a month if you have your own domain. The only drawback for this monthly license is you don't have a backup copy of your site and content.

I am having problem uploading pictures and I want to see how they handle customer support. That would say a lot about the company. I suffer some site feature drawbacks because I use a Mac and not Internet Explorer, but I am used to that.

Good fun so far.

I have no connection to the company either.

Regards
May
