conking lockerbie, terra cotta sinks, and wholesale tips

Hi everybody!
It has been forever since I posted but how the heck are you?
I am fine. I have been saving up all my questions for you and here it goes.
Thanks to you in advance to those who have answers.

Q1. Terra Cotta Sinks... I was at a craft show/glamorized garage sale along
highway 101 Labor day Weekend.
All of the contractors were out apparently because everyone wanted to know
more about my planter... only they thought it was a sink.
I told them ...sure I can make whatever you want. Does anyone make terra
cotta sinks in their studio? I see them on line made commercially but that
makes me think they are something other than "real" terra cotta..

Q2. My Lockerbie occasionally starts conking ... it goes spin spin spin
*conk* spin spin spin *conk* does it just need oil in the zirch? Do I need
to grease it?

Q3. I am looking for some wholesale representation that works for under
$400. Does anyone recommend anything? My wares are "funny". People who buy
them are usually ages 25- 45.
Anyone else going for this market who might know?

If you want to see my wares check them out here:

Kristin,

I can only speak to Question #2 conking Lockerbie.

You need to regularly lubricate both the top and the bottom bearing.
The top bearing on my Lockerbie has a grease cup. I fill up the cup
with grease and screw it on. Each rotation shoves grease into the
bearing through a nipple. The bottom bearing is lubricated through a
screw hole. Look at the shaft collar sticking up out of your concrete
fly wheel. Just above that and screwed in at an angle you should find
a screw. Remove that screw and squeeze in 3 in 1 oil until it won't
take no mo'.

The clunking might be a bad bearing but I doubt it. On my wheel I
often am startled by a clunk only to find out that a dried bit of clay
has fallen between the spinning fly wheel and the metal guard
surrounding it. When it would first happen I would freak out, but now
I try to clean up my trimming scraps a bit better. Hope this helps. I
can take some pics of the ol' Lockerbie tonight and blog them if you
need me to.
