Lee Gallery to showcase North Carolina and Georgia ceramic
artists.
Clemson, SC " Common Borders" is an exhibition showcasing the ceramic art
of thirteen artists from North Carolina and Georgia opens October 23, in
the Rudolph E. Lee Gallery of Lee Hall at Clemson University. Currated by
Denise Woodward Detrich and Mike Vatalaro in the clay studio.
Common Borders brings together the work of several of the most creative
ceramists that border South Carolina, including Andy Nasisse, Mary Engel
and Ron Meyers from Athens, GA, Priscilla Hollingsworth of Augusta, GA,
Norm Schulman and Shawn Ireland from Penland, NC, Suze Lindsay, Will
Ruggles and Douglass Rankin from Bakersville, NC, Leah Leitson and Don
Davis from Asheville, NC , Geoffrey Pickett from Farmington, GA and
Darlene Doerr from Martinez, GA.
This exhibition of ceramic sculpture and functional pottery continues
through November 21. The Lee Gallery is open Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4
p.m., and Sunday 2-5 p.m. All Exhibits are free and open to the public.

The exhibition, which contains over 50 pieces, encompasses a diverse range
of aesthetic expression, conceptual developments, and forming techniques
providing the viewer with an extensive overview of the different
investigations that are currently being explored in contemporary ceramic
art.
