My Creative wheel is finally working again. Here's what I've
learned in the process:
Don't try to use Creative's website form, it just goes to a black
hole. The same is true of the email address on the website,
info@creativewheels.com. Use shipping@creativewheels.com, it gets
to someone who forwards it to the responsible person.
According to Bell Canada here, Creative's 800 number only works
within the USA. If you live outside, you have to use
619-449-1834. However, once you reach Sherrie, she will take your
number and call you back so your phone bill doesn't go through
the roof.
Despite the draconian terms on the warranty, Sherrie will send
you a replacement controller when it's needed, with clear
instructions on how to remove the old one and instal the new. She
will also ship via USPS on request so you don't have to the pay
brokerage charges of UPS/FedEx. You can then use their box and
packaging to return the faulty one via post.
It took 27 days from the time it broke until it was working
again. Sure hope it keeps working from now on...
