Husband and I are going there TO DC soon and wonder what is happening in
clay there now that we might catch? We are first hitting Gettysburg, then going
to DC for several days[he is looking at wood furniture], then [have no
accommodations, yet] for the remaining days [3-4\ and will be flexible to get to
see cool stuff in places ''nearby'' like Baltimore,Richmond,Seagrove on the
return trip to SC.We are looking for B&B or Inns or such that are not so
pricey but near clay and fine furniture venues.

Any advice or ideas? Thank you in advance. The hotel rates sure have popped
up since
gas has as well.

We both really need this to get away.

Margaret in SC

Be sure to stop at the American Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore. You can
have an excellent lunch there.

The National Gallery in DC has an exhibit on Desiderio da Settignano
you might want to see. Fifteenth century Florentine sculptor. http://

If you get into DC and are down on the Mall, head to the Freer & Sackler
Museums (next to each other) to see:

A very small exhibit, but worth the trip.

Gwyn Pigott has arranged selected pottery from the collection.
