Dear Clayarters of the Texas type persuasion....

Does anyone in the Dallas area know of a potter/ceramicist in need of a two
month apprenticeship during January and February of 1998?

Bennington College in Bennington Vermont, has a FIELD WORK TERM (FWT) for
all students during the winter. All students are required to get a " real
job " in the area of study they are pursuing.

In particular, a young lady named Arline Mercier < arline@bennington.edu
> a Sophomore, with several years experience with clay, in wheel throwing
and handbuilding, is looking for a job experience in the Dallas area. ( a
relative lives in Dallas, so lodging can be covered, if not included in the
apprenticeship. )

The position she seeks might entail any or all of the following :
producing actual clay work, kiln loading, glaze mixing, waxing, wedging,
kneading, cleaning up, etc...

It would be nice to be paid a wage, a stipend, and / or meals in return
for the services rendered, but that is not a requirement of the program.

If you are interested in finding out more, contact me asap. or better
yet, contact Arline directly by e-mail at < arline@bennington.edu > or
phone at ( 802 ) 440 - 7719

Thanks for any leads you might know of in the Dallas area.

TIA

.......Ric
