Hay Crew,

Well lets see, where was I... probably sleeping all day again eh? Sure
can get worn out trying to scare the hell out of the kids before
Halloween while zoneing up the costumes and accessories our customers
splatter all over the place. So while putting the stuff back where it
belongs I get a kick out of holding up a string of skeletons and asking
if they wanna hang around for a while. "Off with their heads" I say when
they chase each other with the plastic ancient weapons and mystical
amulets. Gone are the days of grandmas old hat, a piece of burnt cork,
and a pillow case.

So those 2" bright orange pumpkins with the air plant hot glued where the
stem was got me to thinking of who probably made them in an electric kiln
somewhere in a Chinese city. They got put next to the porcelain haunted
houses. I think it is the same mold as the Christmas house but glazed
differently. And now thanks to Tony posting the trip to Jingdezhen I can
imagine who glazed those tiny chickens for the manger scenes coming up.
Little stuff like that makes great space fillers. It will be neat to see
some kilns lodes and fires if only to confirm if I'm headed in the right
direction thinking the profile of the Hobagama is similar to the ancient
designs. I'd hate to have to start over again since getting thus far in
this 5 minute walkabout I took a week or so ago after starting the
walls...

Then came a couple good weather days off in a row enough to make a bit
more progress by starting the south wall, which ends the "Late Summer"
album...

With autumn starting a new album seems in order. Work on the walls
continues ending up with using a mix of castable and lag to sort of level
out the curved chamber connection with the right angles of the stack. If
I get lucky with the weather I could get this sealed over enough to take
it on at least a bisque fire to harden the lag for winter. The W30 was
set on a couple 4 5 minute intervals...

I was trying to feel guilty about not dropping everything and going down
below to see Mom in the nursing home and get anything she might need but
she had the case worker and my daughter tell me she don't need me so I
guess she is right and I should be more productive staying up here
working on Art while I still can. Stay in there eh!
