I got mine from Clay King last year.
Had good price with free shipping.
Think it's even cheaper now!

I purchased a Shimpo Whisper Wheel about two years ago and the best price I
could find was with BigCeramicstore.com. Their current price is $880 with
free shipping. I received the wheel within one week of ordering. I'm not
related to them or promoting them, but I got good service at a good price.

I think that's where I bought mine last year however along with
the free shipping Shimpo had a promotional incentive where you could choose
from a Shimpo adjustable stool, a banding wheel and I forgot the other item.
I took the stool.. a $45+ item.
Delivery was fast, the packaging of the wheel & components was the best I've
ever seen.
BTW I've been very happy with the VL Whisper.

Hi Hank,

Can I suggest your local dealer? The initial price might not be the
best, but if you need service it just might be. A year ago I was in
the store of a pottery supply dealer in the Philadelphia area. He had
a Shimpo Whisper torn apart in his store. Someone had bought it
through him and had a problem with it. He was resolving the problem
with Shimpo--the customer did not have to ship it off to Timbuktu or
deal with a half a dozen different people and 49 different telephone
trees to get help. They just brought it back to where they bought it
and he solved their problem. Does the cheapest internet dealer give
that kind of service?

In addition you might still like that local dealer to be in business
when you need other things in the future.

Regards,

John

John,

Your comments is well taken. It is always a good idea to purchase locally
(unless, of course, they are real boneheads!) However, some of us live in
the hinterlands, boondocks, or outback etc. and it makes no difference where
we buy because when things fail, there is no one close by to give aid. In
the case of repairs, it is you that has to pay for shipping both ways to get
the thing fixed. In that scenario the cheapest price is the best price and
keep you fingers crossed that you don't have any problems.

Ingeborg, living on an island where it is hot and humid with biting bugs,
salt air that eats up equipment in no time who just blew the motor on her
enviro vent which is only 5 years old!

Dear John;

Thanks for the thought on this, as it is a valid concern. In this
case we are in need of thirty wheels, so should be in a good position
to bargain.

Cheers, Hank

In Canada, there is another reason to shop internet - a lot of
our wholesale supply places are ripping our retailers off by
pretending we still have a 60c dollar. The last item I bought
online was almost $150 locally, and it isn't our local supplier
gouging anyone. The US manufacturer's list is $100 and I got it
for US$88 (Cdn$87) from a major, helpful US supplier.
