*Collette Smith** will lead a two-day hands-on workshop that will begin with
cups, saucers, mugs, and move on to more complex forms. She will address the
transformation of round pots into square, oval and free form shapes.
Construction techniques will include cutting, darting, and attaching
multiple thrown parts on the spot. She will also demonstrate handles,
spouts, and added feet. The focus will be on the creation of ware that is
functional, beautiful and fun to use.*

*Ms. Smith has taught and exhibited at The Clay Center, Port Chester, NY,
The Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences, Loveladies, NJ,
and Baltimore Clayworks. She is represented by numerous galleries and has
recently received a Merit and Purchase Award at the distinguished annual
competition and exhibition Feats of Clay, in Lincoln, CA. Her work has been
featured in Clay Times, Ceramics Monthly, as well as in 500 Bowls and 500
Cups, published by Lark Books. She is currently a resident artist, teacher,
and exhibitor at Baltimore Clayworks.*
