ink jet printer info/computers

i found out the hard way. keep your printers turned off
when not in use. the epson in particular.

the ink heads dried out and caused my almost new epson
to stop working. the instructions were in the package...`turn
off printer and park the heads when not in use.` turn off from
the printer, not the computer.
(sharlene gets my old computer and printer...for her new
upstairs office.)

got it back to working order just fine...but had to waste a great
deal of ink and paper. used windex and alcohol and a q tip.
found the fix on google.

gail has just built me a new computer and she found
me a great canon pixma all function printer to match
up with the computer.
wow..what a great printer.
and, it reduces scans or copies. sharlene loves that for
her calligpraphy.

my new hand made computer is really a zinger. it is far
oversized, speedie as can be. it will last me years.
the best thing about gail's computers are:
everything inside is `state of the art`. as we know,
dell or others can cut many corners with the guts of a
computer. intel processor and other parts made by
`havana screen door company and computer parts`.
their motto:
no part costs over six cents.

well, i could not be more pleased with the `figglywigs` work.
she is a star. she knows how to build computers.
mel
wayne claims i am a crow...`have to have new and shiny things
around me`. well that is true.
my new computer has a glass wall, deep blue case, and many blue lights.
it glows at night. makes me smile. i even have a floppy drive...when all
else goes to hell, most any computer will start or rebuild with a floppy.

Yeah, but what Mel forgot to tell everyone was that his
"New! Bright! Shiny!" computer also has Viking helmet
thumbscrews in the back. (Gail looked for a lutefisk hood ornament
for it as well, but alas...)
Everyone repeat after me..."Ooooohhhhh! Ahhhhhhh!"

I'm the same way, Mel. I love state of the art, shiny chrome,
the "latest and greatest"...except when I find out that it's no
improvement...like Vista.
I'm a human crow too, and a confirmed tool junkie and a scrounger/tinkerer.
Blue collar. Nothing wrong with that.
Enjoy your new toy.

Gail (Phillips until recently) has bailed me out of bad, business
stopping situations with computer "issues"
more times than I can count. I've lost track of how many computers she
has built, rebuilt, nuked and paved (reformatted and reloaded) since I've
known her, and how many times she's guided me through a repair on the
phone.
I only know for sure that without her I would be lost, (and bald
from ripping my hair out.)

Take a bow, dear...you deserve it.
Best,
Wayne Seidl

If your new Pixma performs anything like our old Canon i560 then you will be
very happy indeed. We don't print out photos or do photo shop, just ordinary
printing black and white and color. During my senate campaign and my house
campaign we printed all of our fliers with it. We never bought any canon
ink. We used after market ink from Abacus at less that $2.00 per cartridge.
Never had a problem until we just wore the printer head out.
We printed more than a thousand sheets of paper a day printed on both sides
day after day. We used more than 200 hundred ink cartridges during the
campaigns and we used the printer for all the other printing chores, too.
The machine seemed bullet proof until after four years of daily use it just
died. So Sherron insisted we go on eBay and buy another one just like it. We
found a slightly used one and paid about what we did for the other one in
2004.

Overall's on thu 18 oct 07

James and Sherron Bowen mentioned Abacus as their
Canon ink cartridge supplier at reduced prices.

THANK YOU!!!

I went on line and saved $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

We have a Canon i960 and love how it can handle
all promotional materials in color. Designing them is
not as easy.

I was attempting to design my own and fiddled with the
Avery business cards to utter frustration.
I do not have Photoshop to design professionally.

After three days of graphic art ineptitude,
I searched and found a local company that I highly recommend.

www.businesscardsofhouston.com

He had revamped my design into something more in less
than 24 hours. It took about 3 more days to fine tune
the small stuff. I'm anxious to see how they came out.

So now I can save money on ink on work I can manage,
and pay a professional designer who is SO REASONABLE.

Oh dang! Looks like I've screwed up yet again. I just bought my
first laptop--one of them corner-cuttin' Dells! Probably "hand-made"
by orangutans, with a 6-cent Intel processor and other screen door parts.

Whaddid I know? I thought Dell computers were simply assembled,
erector-set-wise, from parts and components chosen by me--the CPU,
chipset, memory, hard drive, DVD drive, screen resolution, and a
whole bunch of lesser thingies.

I even checked with Consumer Reports (well, WTF do *they* know,
anyway), PC Magazine, and my geeky son. And what did I end up
with? The darn thing doesn't even have that glass wall, so I can't
watch them gears and wheels go round inside.

And no floppy, neither....
