in the last issue of claytimes, pete pinnell has
written a great primer on the basics of glaze making.
it is a nice read.
good reminders for old timers, and gobs of information
for young potters.
i read the entire article, and enjoyed it a great deal.

Yes, Professor Pinnell does very well with explaining glazes and how
to make them. Sure wish he would come to the garagio and help me dip
test tiles, though.
Mama has a way with explanations too. Because of ClayArt, I fear no
glaze, or clay, or kiln, or tool. All the same, some of you still
scare the begeezus out of me, Maurice, cough, cough.

Dear mel jacobson,
You whet the appetite but Clay times does not appear on the shelves at =
our local newsagents.
Any chance of scanning and e-mail transmission to Oz ?
Best regards,

Dear Helen Bates,
You say <online, see:
http://www.claytimes.com/articles.html>>
Well, I tried it and the article displayed has nothing to do with the =
"basics of Glaze Making". It is about adjusting the viscosity of a glaze =
slop for differing styles of application.
Thanks for the prompt, but not what I anticipated.
Best regards,
Ivor
