Kathryn,
You hit a nerve talking about solitary potters. One
day a week I work as a demonstrating artist at the
Georgia Heritage Center for the Arts. There are
usually three or four of us, all working in different
mediums although generally potters outnumber the
others. It is one of my most productive days because
we bounce ideas off of one another and critique and
suggest and help each other. BUT-- a friend keeps
chiding me asking "Why is a good looking woman like
yourself still a widow?" Well, I guess I can now
answer, "I guess cause I'm a potter."
Truly, Kathryn, you gave me sn answer. I'm hanging
out with the wrong crowd -- me and one-day-a-week
several others like me. But I love the work, I love
my buddies.
Sorry your back and bod are aching. No good deed goes
unpunished. I reckon by the time someone comes along
and says "You just go sit and we'll take care of
this." It'll be too late - we'll be ready to hang it
up.
Peace, lots of strong friends and a good recovery.
Patti in NE GA where I woke up to rain in the downspout.
