Hello Jckie:

Adding to Robert Klander post which was quite complete on where to find
pots,
If you want working potteries There are many West Virginia potteries in
the area including but not limited to Jeff Diehl
http://www.lockbridgepottery.com/studio_shows.htm , very close to
Lewisburg.
And he would probably let you know about any others too.

Mayssan, in Charleston WV who would love to have you come visit her but is
about 2 hours away form White Sulpher Spring.

There is a great gallery in Lewisburg, THE WASHINGTON ST GALLERY. It
is run by a potter, who has an excellent eye for good pots.

Of course, with just a little crawling around the downtown Lewisburg
scene, one will find several other galleries that offer pots from
local and regional potters, as well.

Right up the interstate, about an hour from White Sulphur, in
Beckley, WV (I-64 West to I-77 North to exit 45), one will find a
treasure chest of all sorts of craft under roof at "Tamarack- The
Best of West Virginia" All the work offered for sale there is
produced by West Virginia artisans, and there is a wonderful
representation of pottery there, as well as everything from food to
clothing, jewelry to furniture.
The food there is produced by the Greenbrier Hotel Chefs, and is
reasonably priced and of excellent quality. If you haven't had the
pleasure of a visit to the Tamarack, make a point of stopping in
there for a wonderful time.

Enjoy your visit to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia.

Best thoughts,
Robert Klander

Jackie,

I'm sure you will have a blast!

Robert

p.s. Jeff Diehl is a wonderful potter, and has a wonderful place
there. It's a bit of a drive in the country off of I-77, but it's
quite beautiful...Along the sides of Route 20, take note of the
native Rhododendron "forest", and just imagine that stretch of road
when things are in bloom.
