After lots of classroom time on Brent Cs, I'm buying my first wheel. I've
narrowed the field to Thomas Stuart Premier or Shimpo Whisper or Pacifica
800. Can anyone advise me on the 3? I've heard both the Whisper and
Pacifica are both "quiet." Is the Thomas Stuart really so noisy that this
is a make it or break it issue?
Often on the listserv, there are suggestions to go try the wheels at
dealers. Great suggestions, but here in Chicagoland, I don't find any
such dealers. It's daunting to plunk down this amount of money after
online research only, but I think that's my only option. Therefore, I
greatly appreciate any advice from the collective mind. Thanks. : o )

The Shimpo is very quiet, and I have a 10yr old Pacifica GT400 that is =
quieter than any Brent I've ever met, even at 10 yrs old. So those =
would be my personal choices as well. But, do you really NEED the 800? =
Are you throwing such large work that it's a necessity? =20
