This is the little I know, and I have only been at friends' not staged my
own.

1. As your tour appears to be a group effort, I expect someone checked that
no big event was happening in town that day. CONFLICT with another event is
the biggest show snuffer. "Event" would include the Bryn Mawr /Sarah
Lawrence Jai-alai Match 20 miles away, as well as some big big event that
people come from all over to watch.

2. Have at least one person hang out just like a shop detective. People do
break, chip, steal. And small children should not be walking about alone.

3. If there is time, and if you have nearby motels, do advertise it there.

4. If it is hunting season where you are, do not hesitate to advertise to
the non-hunting spouses....Hairdressing shops? PL?

5. People WILL ask about shipping! Oh yes, they will! Figure out what you
would charge to mail, and or have shipping boxes and labels and wrapping
THERE so you can wrap that baptismal font for an extra fee, and THEY can
mail it. A great many pottery sales are lost, and aunts in Transylvania
deprived of birthday presents because the niece is fearful of wrapping a pot
for shipping.

Would I be crazy to set up a "play space" with kid stuff?
(That's if I can figure out a way to do it out of the way...)
Or have clay (or play doh?) for kids to play with on the
picnic table out back? Or would that by distracting and
nuts?
