Tim,

I sort of managed to look at two of your videos, with you throwing. Since I
am on dial-up, it was rather frustrating. I did manage to see the whole of the
quick little bowl throwing one, but did not manage to see the whole of the
stretched platter one. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing what I managed to see, just
wish I had a faster connection. Will have to go somewhere where I can access
WiFi to really see them.

I wanted to thank you for sharing your videos and expertise. As with so many
folks on Clayart, you are generous to share, and I am sure that many,
especially those learning to throw, will greatly benefit from them.
I always enjoy watching other people throw, and I always manage to pick up
something new. It is very refreshing.

Thanks again.

Seeing others throw is always a thrill, is always exciting as there are =
always other ways of producing a shape on the wheel. Some make it look =
easy - they are the good ones - and others make it look hard - not so =
good, but it is always exciting.
Having seen some of the other movies - the clay preparation for example =
made me wince. What was being shown was a very practical way to injure =
yourself whilst preparing the clay with so much wasted energy. Clay =
preparation is a dance not a sequence of tortured movements - no wonder =
so many people shy away from clay prep if they are shown this tortuous =
way. Wrong height, wrong stance, using wrong parts of the body etc., =
etc.=20
Sorry to be so negative but please for the sakes of your bodies do not =
do it that way. For an easier way to keep your body in shape and prepare =
the clay AND enjoy it too, go to my KERAMIX web site and click on the =
Clay Prep Video. I am also going to be releasing a full DVD on the =
basics which will include a very detailed sequence of a variety of SAFE =
methods of clay prep. to be released next year.

Well I watched your videos. I have nothing on youtube that is what you call clay prep. And your
videos are for free so I stand corrected. But there is nothing there that varies enough from what you
do to what I do that you need to warn people about how or what I make and do. again it just looks
like a slimy attempt at something I just do not know what now. Tim See

So you should be proud, but why the defensive stance?
I said about the throwing - it is always exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
On the page where your videos were - on YuoTube - there was an example =
of clay prep. which was not you.
I also have free examples on my web sites, I also send out my works DVD =
for FREE and have done for over a year!
Please do read more carefully before exploding.

Tim,

please less of the slimy and more of the videos.
I did not comment that you threw well or badly, or that I am better, =
please do read more carefully what IS written, and not what you think is =
written.
I will now comment on the videos. Being on YouTube, the quality of =
picture is poor, the throwing as I said before is always exciting!

I think there has been a bad misunderstanding here that stems from people
not knowing how youtube works. The original link went to Tim See's page
of videos. What anyone unfamiliar with youtube must understand is that
when you click on a video of the person's own page, you are taken to the
youtube page. There you are shown the vid you have clicked on however the
vids under the playing vid are samples from assorted users. The video on
wedging had nothing to do with Tim other than it being about pottery.

Tim See's videos are first rate and useful for even experienced potters.

I believe this was one of those "Oops!" moments of "what is that I hear
about too much violins on TV!" I can tell you that I have way too many of
those.

Yah! Or Euthanasia. What's the big deal about "Youth-in-Asia?"

I didn't see the person throwing big stuff and potentiall
hurting themselves either. Dang! ;^)

Tim I have been teaching pottery for decades and my students love your
videos. I have just learned about them and forwarded the link to
people who take class with me. Thanks for putting it out there.

Marek, I just responded to Jim Willets comment, I hope this clears up my bizarre behavior. The next
video you see that has the potential to do harm right a comment on that video. I think we all know
there are going to be bad videos out there, mark them as you see them. Warning others without
mentioning particular videos leads to what Jim and I have experienced.

Most libraries now have fast internet service. If yours does, I highly
recommend going there to watch the videos as they are meant to be seen.
The only complaint I have about Tim's videos is that I now feel compelled
to go buy a new Sherrill Mud tool...

Thanks, Donna,

Good idea. Will go to the library and watch the videos. Hope I am not tempted
to buy more tools!

Just to remind the majority of people (80+% in Canada) who are on
dialup - visit
http://www.download3000.com/download-YouTube_Downloader-count-reg-19063.html
to get a program that downloads videos in the background, then
lets you view them properly with MediaPlayer or any other system.

Free, works, and passes all my virus/spyware checks.

YouTube is a wonderful resource for potters.
