oxide classification

For unity calculations, oxides are defined as network formers
(nominally RO2), network modifiers (RO, R2O) and fluxes (R2O3).
However, there are exceptions and disagreement over them. So,
what do the commonly available glaze programs do with Al2O3, BaO,
B2O3, CaO, CoO, Cr2O3, CuO, FeO, K2O, Li2O, MgO, MnO, Na2O, NiO,
P2O5, SiO2, SnO2, SrO, TiO2, ZnO, ZrO2 with regards to unity
classification?

This of course is for the database I'm putting together for
Clayart. Email me privately if you prefer.

i thought network formers were RO2 (as in SiO2), network modifiers were R2O=
3(like Al2O3), and fluxes were RO(CaO)?
