Well friends,

It is easy to do. Greg Daly describes a way to make Resinate Lustres, =
page 130 in "Glazes and Glazing Techniques". All you need is a hot plate =
and some shallow ceramic basins. If you choose Nitrates as your basis =
for the metal keep the temperature of the reaction low otherwise you =
might get a violent reaction as the Resin heats up

If you hunt around in some of the older books there is a recipe which =
needs 24 Karat Gold Bullion as the original metal. It is rather involved =
and quite dangerous. Boiling concentrated Aqua Regia, 1/3 Nitric =
acid::2/3 Hydrochloric acid can be a bit dodgy.

All the best,

Ivor,

Making one's own lusters sound intriguing.

But;

Boiling Aqua Regia???

Sounds dangerous. I think I would wear rubber boots, a full length
rubber rain slicker, a helmet, a full face shield, and rubber gloves at
a minimum, while boiling those three together. Wouldn't want that stuff
on me anywhere.

Regards,

John Rodgers
