I went to the Carolina Designer Craftsmen show
in Raleigh, N.C., on Sunday. It was great to
see Cat again. I had met her at a show in
Asheville a couple of summers ago. She was as
friendly as ever and excited about the changes
she had made in her work since I had last seen
it. She has expanded her glazes with a new
golden brown color and changed her clay body
to a whiter one that makes the reds and purples
appear more vivid.

The first potter's booth I saw was Gillian
Parke's. Her work is amazing. I added a teabowl
to my collection and wish I had bought another.
Fortunately, she's nearby and I'm sure I'll see
her work again soon.
