World Record attempt pottery piece 1978 Item number 2625 - last piece throw=
n
for record attempt

WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT - BIDDICK FARM ARTS CENTRE - MARCH 1978.

FOR THE GUINESS BOOK OF RECORDS.

THIS ITEM IS NUMBERED 2625 AND IS THE LAST POT THROWN TO ATTEMPT TO CREATE
THE RECORD. THERE WHERE 8 PERSONS THAT MADE THESE POTS OVER A PERIOD OF 24
HOURS TO GAIN THEIR RECORD ENTRY.

THE INTERIOR OF THE POT HAS THE FOLLOWING INSCRIPTION:

*WORLD RECORD*

*BIDDICK FARM*

*ARTS CENTRE*

*MARCH 1978*

ON THE BOTTOM OF THE POT IS STAMPED:

*NO. 2625*

I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO CONFIRM THE RECORD ATTEMPT WAS ACCEPTED, BU=
T
CANNOT FIND ANY MENTION, ALTHOUGH BIDDICK FARM ARTS CENTRE IS MENTIONED MAN=
Y
TIMES.

This item number 2625 is the only one in the world, there is no other! That
goes as well for the other 2624 pots, but none have the honour of being the
actual record attempt piece.

The name of every person that took part is inscribed :

SYL MACRO

DIDI CHAPMAN

PAUL HAMMOND

STEVE COURSE

ANDY CHILCOTT

MIKE SAUL

ALAN BALL

COLIN WILSON

Know any of them? Was Alan Ball not a famous footballer, obviously not the
same one. Then what about Hammond? Some sort of Car Programme springs to
mind.

This is a lovely decorative piece with a lot of history!

I bought it whilst visiting the record attempt and offered DOUBLE of the
sale value of each pot to purchase the last one thrown. During the whole
attempt people could buy the pots as they were completed. I paid =A35.00 in
advance and that in 1978 was a fortune to me. Still is useful come to think
of it.

Imagine! Owning the one only item in the world!

Why am I selling it? Leaving the UK after my second divorce, cannot face
taking everything with me to have it all around a smaller house on the Gree=
k
Island CRETE. Leave the memories behind, get on with the new life amongst
the olive trees and sunshine.

Dimensions: Diameter of top 133mm - diameter of base 65mm - height 55mm
(approximate but very near measurements.)

Happy Bidding.
