MudFire Clayworks in Atlanta, GA has an opening for a work-exchange=3D20
studio assistant position starting in mid-July.
Assistants perform various jobs in the studio for 6 hours each week in=3D20
exchange for:

free access to the studio during open hours
*
free access to all workshops
*
use of photo booth
*
sales opportunities in the gallery
*
a generous firing allowance
*
use of craft booth setup as needed
Duties include:
Studio upkeep, kiln loading, glaze mixing, materials management, kiln=3D20
firings, teaching beginner pottery, gallery sales, and being friendly=3D20
and super-helpful to everyone at all times!!! This is a physical=3D20
position that requires strength and a sense of humor!
Requirements:

Must love clay and the clay community!
*
Must be available to work a regular 6 hour shift each week (Monday
or Wednesday Noon-6pm, or possibly Thursday, 4-10pm)
*
Must have (at least) intermediate level experience with clay (wheel,
handbuilding or both)
*
Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a very regular basis
*
Must be tolerant of heat, cold and bathroom cleaning products
*
Must be outgoing, friendly and excited to help
*
Must have it together! No drama. No flaking. No freakouts.
*
Organized, self-motivated AND able to follow directions (yes, both!)
*
Reliable and dependable
*
Strong references from ceramics teachers or previous studio
*

This is a minimum of a one year position, with opportunity to extend for=3D=
20
up to three years.
