The comparisons between cars and kiln is pretty silly unless you happen to
run your car at upwards of 2000 degrees. The main enemies of computer chips and
electronics in general are heat and humidity . I have replaced the computer
in my car, bought a new stove because the controls failed, etc. and they all
run at relatively benign conditions.
I will start having faith in kiln manufacturers when they use high grade
stainless for the kiln jackets, use stainless screws instead of steel and learn
how to attach the hose clamps so the spot welds don't rust out in a few years
