source for inexpensive elements?

I will be replacing the elements soon in a Skutt 1027. I have always bought
the Skutt replacement elements from my local ceramic supply, but was
wondering if there is an economical alternative. Has anyone had experience
(good or bad) with discount suppliers of Skutt elements or custom
manufacturers? I generally subscribe to the theory that I get what I pay
for, but that isn't always the case.

I have been reading up on ITC coatings in the the archives and am
considering giving them a try.

Thank you,
Marni

We have had very good luck with Euclid's Elements, at 800/296-5456. They
have info on file on virtually all name-brand kilns, and will supply your
needs very promptly. You have no doubt seen their adds in CM.
