after having two USA wood handle suppliers raise their prices on me 400% on me i will go plastic soon enough. it's more reliable in price, quality, and delivery.

while i have some good overseas quoted prices in wood, their quality is weak and i do not have the time to pursue overseas quality control, nor bank on a broker-middleman to keep their quality up. and the minimum buys are very high in quantity.

a good tooled plastic handle can be functional and economical.

i hate to have a product where 80% of the manufacturing cost is actually wrapped up in the handle and packaging materials!

see ya

Friends,

The Groovy Tools are good. Period. Those of you that know me know that I am
not attracted to plastic, far from it. It would take a lot for me to
recommend a tool with a plastic handle. Though the blade looked good in the picture I
was skeptical. Dave Burge was kind enought to send me a sample tool. I looked
at it. I felt the blade. Nice. I looked at the green plastic handle. Ugh. It's
in a slightly textured rubberized sleeve. Ugh. I held the plastic handle.
Ugh. Plastic. Not wood. Not warm. Not earthy. I tried it. I liked it. It trims
beautifully. It's light. It's smooth. I hate the plastic handle but you can
get used to it. It's no more uninviting than a metal handle. In fact, if you
don't look at the handle you can make believe that it's wood. Dave knows what he
is doing. These tools will serve you well.

We are now carrying them at The Potters Shop. Not yet up on the web site but
we have them.

see you,

Steven
