I just ordered the Universal Bat system. I believe it is by Northstar. It is about $50 (give or take with S&H). You get the bat which sits on the wheel head and then ten 5-1/2" inserts - sounds like what Kathi has suggested to make with plastic bat and masonite. For $10 you get 12 inserts. I saw this in action and thought it was a great idea. I saw it on the BigCeramicStore.com, but I actually ordered it locally (Runyan).
I think the Miracle bat looks cool, but expensive.
