Many electronics stores sell liquid stuff to dip tool handles
into, both to insulate them electrically and so each member of a
group can have their own colour. I use one to mark the tools that
stay directly over my woodwork bench as opposed to those that can
be borrowed by my children, put in portable toolboxes etc. They
work well on wood, metal or plastic and last for years.
