To photograph plates I use a heavy bookend to which I have attached strips
of Velcro tape. On the plate I use peel off Velcro tape that can be used
over again many times. Position plate....press against Velcro...even
suspend it a little...shoot photo...peel off tape....attach to back of
next plate. Works very well. I've also glued felt on the bottom of the
bookend, so it doesn't scratch the graduated background.
