Dear Clayarters,

La Meridiana's Program for summer Workshops in Italy is listed at http://www.lameridiana.fi.it/ceramic_courses_programme.htm
There is a very full program this starting in January. Check it out.
Several people on the list have participated in the workshops there.
Claudia tells me things are filling slowly. No doubt it is the US
dollar.
La Meridiana is a wonderful place in an absolutely gorgeous setting in
a 12th C. restored villa and managed by two very warm caring people,
Claudia and Pietro.
The gourmet meals are great. Side trips go all over..even Cinque terra
if there is interest. The big wood kiln fires great. wine and cheese
tasting
in Barberino's ancient town is wonderful.
The workshop leaders are from all over and offer a wide variety of
topics.
Ellen Shankin and her gold glaze ; Malcolm Davis - Mr. Shino;
Frank Giorgini, from NY,;David Roberts from UK of drawing with smoke;
Dan Finch who also provide a full slate of programs in NC.
I will be teaching architectural ceramics where we will build several
large structures including a free standing garden arch fired in the
wood kiln.
Deposits for the Spring and summer programs are due in February and
March.
Check out the whole site. http://www.lameridiana.fi.it/ for a full
view of the experience.
Stop by the NCECA booth and talk with Tony, Russel or myself about
what is happening. We hope to have a set up for skyping directly to
Italy
from the convention center if there is wifi.
We will have a slide show on a computer to show off the previous years
of workshops.
La Meridiana programs provide a combination of working in a great
surrounding and soaking up the Italian culture through a rich series
of events.
