how did potteryfinder.com - turn into foxfire pottery ???

Pat's Pottery on mon 21 jan 08

I received the message below last year on the clayart list. I signed up my
website and put a link to www.potteryfinder.com on mine. I was just
checking my links on my website and find the site is now Foxfire Pottery, by
Peter Summar. No notice was given that the website was to be changed and
there are no links to the many potteries that signed up to the site. I
think this was a fraudulent way to get many links to place his website up
high in the searches. If I am wrong let me know. Meanwhile I have removed
the link that said "PotteryFinder.com - Find a Potter, Pottery Studio or
Ceramics Information Near You.". All you will find is an advertisement to
visit Peter Summar's eBay site.

Hello!

I'm about half completed with www.potteryfinder.com and wanted to thank
everyone from the ClayArt group. I've had so many of you submit your sites,
and I'm greatly appreciative. You can see what I've done so far by checking
out the state map / links (if you've submitted your site, it's up and you
can see the state page)
http://www.potteryfinder.com/searchbystate/statesearch.htm ; I haven't
gotten
everything up yet, but I'm getting there. I start back at school next week,
so hope to have even more completed by then. No more broken pages at that
time.

Also - if anyone would like a glaze recipe featured, please let me know. I
have an incomplete page for that one. I don't want to 'take' from anyone's
site but would be happy to feature your favorite glaze if you'd like to
share.

I've gotten some great feedback and am trying to implement what I can. I've
also started to get some traffic from Google and MSN, so hopefully that will
continue to grow and help you get more exposure on your site.

If you missed my original post and would like your pottery site
listed/featured on this site (non-commercial, no fee, free, etc.), please
let me know. There's a form online that you can use to submit your
pottery-related site.

Thanks again!
