glaze lifting/firing

I fired the copper purple glazed bowls (3), the ones where the glaze was
crackling and lifting when dry, taking the advice to spray and smooth
down on two of them. They still looked bad, although one didn't really
show signs of the crackling. It was just dull, dull, dull and bumpy. One
bowl I fired, with a bisqued tile beneath it, just as was with crackles
and lifts. As one of you promised, it was indeed interesting with sort
of a licheny look, some sharp pointy spots, and a variety of blues from
pale to navy and a bit of purple. However, it's unusable as a bowl or
an art object but could serve as a good teaching tool. I will try this
glaze one more time adding the CMC (which I didn't know existed until
this thread) and if that doesn't work, it's had it. Tony's right. It's
not worth the effort any more. Too many nicer behaved glazes our there.
Thanks for all your suggestions and comments.
