Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry a couple of months ago
about buying a pugmill. After weighing everyone's opinions (and the
balance in my checkbook), I finally decided on a Peter Pugger VPM9. I
ordered it around Thanksgiving and it arrived last night. The UPS guy
kindly took it into the studio instead of leaving it on the deck. With
help from a friend, we got it unpacked & on a table. This weekend we will
try it out. I'm excited.

(I understand why so many said it was 'cute.' It really is. Our friend
suggested we paint eyes on it & give it a name...)

Sue,
I'm sure you'll love your new vpm-9. I love mine! I've only had it for
about three months now, but it has already made a big impact on my
productivity, and while it may seem strange, it has opened up my
creativity. Prior to owning a pugmill, I often hesitated to try a new
form, for fear of having it flop and then having to reclaim and
rewedge all that clay. Now I find myself stretching my limits and
trying new things, with the awareness that if I don't like the form it
can be easily reclaimed. I also now reclaim anything I'm not
completely happy with, rather than trying to salvage a bad piece.
