Ceramics Studio Manager at the Southwest School of Art & Craft
Reports to: Ceramics Dept. Chairman
Qualifications: M.F.A. degree in Ceramics, with technical skills in
throwing, sculpture and the firing of natural gas downdraft kilns.
Overall understanding of glaze and clay materials; physical ability
to load and unload 100 cubic foot kilns; strong desire to teach;
active pursuit of exhibitions of her/his own work; basic computer
skills.
Position Description: Full time starting Sept. 1, 2008. This
position includes: teaching two adult classes each session
(beginning to advanced), responsibility for the smooth operation of
the ceramics studio and kiln facilities, and assistance in the
preparation and operation of workshops and special events.
